Hafa Adai, Pago Bay Guam Rotarians!

Welcome to our meeting #11. The day I decided to have a voice arranged meeting, I lose my voice. Murphy’s Law!

Thank you again to our Club Rotarians who attended the Uffizi Virtual Museum Joint Rotary Meeting and Mixer last week Friday. It’s nice to have an opportunity to meet face to face and to join in fellowship with other Rotarians on Guam.

RCNG President Joe Rios extended an invitation to Club President to join them at Two Lovers Point for a Wreath Laying ceremony.  Another great example of Rotary at its best.

This month is New Generations Month. The slogan for this month is “Every Rotarian an Example to Youth.” You are all encouraged to use this slogan to promote our events and activities throughout the month of September. In celebration of New Generations Month, Director John Rivera and I will participate in the Rotaract Youth Leadership Conference scheduled for September 27 at the Lotte Hotel, Crystal Ballroom.  Dr. Rivera will serve as a featured guest speaker and I will provide the concluding remarks.

If you haven’t already, you should be hearing from Treasurer Zeny regarding your Rotary dues. Be expecting an invoice shortly, if you have not already received one. Update provided by Secretary Kris.

Attendance is a very important responsibility as a Rotary member. As we are required to submit an attendance record to the District Governor’s office, you have been asked by Club Secretary Kris to send her an email to note your commitment to reading our meeting notes every week. This is a temporary arrangement until we are able to finalize our gotomeeting.com setup as we have today. In the meantime, your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you to those of you who responded to the Confirm your Membership challenge that I issued last week. I now know that not all our Rotarians are Facebook users.
