Hafa Adai, Pago Bay Guam Rotarians!
 
This evening our Club Board members held its monthly meeting followed by our weekly Club meeting at Guma’ Tasa in Mangilao. Thank you to those members who joined us.
 
Secretary’s Report: Secretary Kris will provide a membership update to track current members, new members, and members who have dropped.
 
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Zeny and Treasurer-Elect Goody provided our first complete financial report. They have worked very hard to get our Club in order and officially established. Membership dues are due by November 28 so that we may have a good count of our members by our Club’s November 7th Christmas social. Please make arrangements to pay your dues as soon as possible with Treasurer Zeny or Treasurer-Elect Goody.
 
Committee Director Updates: If you are not affiliated with a committee, please contact any of the directors below to join or to learn more information. We would really love to have you engaged and need lots of help.
 
  1. Public Relations Committee (Ealani Flores): None
  2. International and Community Service Committee (John Rivera): Director John will provide a proposal of his committee’s service activity and parameters for participation.
  3. Vocational and New Generations (Karen Tydingco): None.
  4. Membership Committee (Anita Arile): December is Rotary Family Month, Committee Director, Anita Arile and her team are organizing an upcoming Rotary Christmas gathering. Please save the date: December 7.
  5. Fundraising Committee (Mark Duarte): activities in planning. PP Ron suggested a Poker Night event.
 
Old Business:
  • Club Secretary Kris will manage the Club’s membership status and update for our weekly meetings.
  • Joint Rotary Day update will be provided by Club Secretary Kris. No report at this time.
  • ClubRunner payment feature will be worked on for immediate implementation (Secretary Kris, Director John and President Annette).
 
New Business:
  • Our Club is looking for a Rotary E-Club of Pago Bay Guam logo. Board members will submit their proposed ideas and welcome members to submit their designs by December 19.
  • In light of VP/PE Takumi Watanabe’s intent to resign from our Club, the Board acted on this vacancy and report the following action. Effective immediately, Kris Sayama will serve as Vice President/President-Elect and John Rivera will serve as Club Secretary. We thank thee members for their willingness to serve in this new capacity. There is an opening for International and Community Service Committee Director. Please let us know if you are interested in serving our Club in this capacity.
 
Announcements:
  • Update on PBG Grants Seminar was provided by President Annette and Secretary Kris.
  • Secretary Kris suggested a possible service project with NIH Step Up program. More information will be provided to the Board for action.
  • Please pay your Rotary dues immediately. You should have received an invoice from Treasurer Zeny.
  • Attendance is a very important responsibility as a Rotary member. As we are required to submit an attendance record to the District Governor’s office, you are asked to read the weekly meeting notes and then kindly send Secretary Kris an email or leave a comment on Facebook to document your attendance of our meeting. Secretary Kris will be reaching out to every member to confirm membership.
  • Joint Rotary Day activities will be two days in January.  Planning a day with the public and a tailgate BBQ for Rotary members and their families. Details to follow.
  • RC Tumon Bay President Rindraty Limtiaco reported on a Joint Rotary meeting set for Thursday, November 20.  RCTB-Rotarian Tom Camacho is in charge.  This will be a designated face-to-face meeting for our Club. Secretary Kris is our Club representative.
  • PP Ron McNinch will hold Ethics Training on December 27, 10:00 am at UOG Jesus & Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business and Public Administration Building. More information will be provided.
  • Rotary Club of Tumon Bay will hold its Melbourne Cup event on November 22nd at the Sheraton.
 
Next Board meeting is scheduled for December 19, 5:30 pm at Guma’ Tasa.
