Greeting #24
December 19, 2014

Hafa Adai, Pago Bay Guam Rotarians!

Season’s Greetings! I hope everyone is enjoying the festivities that come with the season. So many celebrations and parties and shopping . . . it is indeed the season for giving! But this is nothing new to Rotarians for giving is what we do best and I thank each and every one of you for your commitment to service above self.

As we enjoy the season of giving, I will be meeting with our Board Officers to discuss ways to reach our membership and would like your input on a few things. Kindly respond via email, on our facebook page or through our ClubRunner communication feature. I need your help in the following ways:

  1. Confirm your commitment to our Rotary Club by paying your dues. Contact Treasurer Zeny or Treasurer Elect Goody to coordinate this business.
  2. Provide a list of Service Leaders in our community whom you wish to hear from. These could be individuals or organizations.
  3. Suggest some service activities you wish to be involved in or lead.
  4. Sign up as a member of one of our Committees.

We continue the work of solidifying our membership roster and have identified how technology could truly be beneficial to our Club Rotarians.

Secretary John and VP/PE Kris will be posting the Minutes of our last meeting #23. We hope to  have a featured guest contributor in the next meeting post. I hope you will be able to continue to stay with us as we progress forward in the coming six months. If you wish to assist us, please let us know. We especially welcome those who are technologically savvy or knowledgeable of programs that could enhance our online meetings.

Announcements:
  • Please pay your Rotary dues immediately. You should have received an invoice from Treasurer Zeny or Treasurer-Elect Goody.
  • Attendance is a very important responsibility as a Rotary member. As we are required to submit an attendance record to the District Governor’s office, you are asked to read the weekly meeting notes and then kindly send Secretary John an email or leave a comment on Facebook to document your attendance of our meeting. Secretary John and VP/PE Kris will be reaching out to every member to confirm membership.
  • Joint Rotary Day activities will be two days in January.  Planning a day with the public and a tailgate BBQ for Rotary members and their families. Details to follow.
  • PP Ron McNinch will hold Ethics Training on December 27, 10:00 am at UOG Jesus & Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business and Public Administration Building.

Please let me know what role you wish to play in our Rotary Club, our Board will be happy to engage you in some way.

There will be no meeting on Friday, December 26, 2014 and January 2, 2015. Instead, enjoy the spirit of the Christmas holiday and the blessings of the New Year with your family. We will be back in touch with you on January 9, 2015!!! Wishing you and your family a very blessed holiday season!

Yours in Rotary,
