Greeting #5
August 1, 2014

Hafa Adai, Pago Bay Guam Rotarians!

This has certainly been an eventful week with Halong’s wind and rain affecting our normal daily routine. I hope you found the day off on Wednesday an opportune time to get some work done (at least for the lucky ones who had uninterrupted power). And while we're on the topic of utilities, I hope you are not finding any setbacks related to the contaminated water in the Barrigada and Mangilao areas. Lucky for us, we are resilient and know how to deal with these “inconveniences” readily. We just keep on keeping on.

I have received some great Rotary information that I want to share with you regarding “Giving and Grants” – here’s a featured story of Rotary Scholar, Kelsi Cox and the work she did with children in Fiji to create “lasting change.”

To learn more about Rotary “Giving and Grants”, please read this article, “Ten Things to Know About the New Rotary Foundation Funding Model.”

Club Officers and Committee Directors, kindly respond to Club Secretary Kris’ call for meeting times. This monthly meeting is part of our commitment to our Rotary Club.

Please be reminded, I will be away on August 3-9, 2014 for an international scholars visit.  He doesn’t know it  yet, but Vice President and President-Elect Takumi-san will conduct our August 8, 2014 meeting.

Have a great weekend!

Yours in Rotary,

Annette Santos, President, RECPBG
